About

Jason is an artist and animator based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, with over 20 years of experience in the animation industry. Since graduating from Limkokwing Institute of Creative Technology in 2002, he has worked as an animator, illustrator, and character designer across a wide range of projects.

He’s a regular collaborator with London-based Flying Eye Books, having worked on two tie-in books for Hilda, the graphic novel series that became a Netflix original. Outside of animation, Jason is an avid plein-air watercolourist, often taking his paints outdoors to capture places and moments as he sees them. He also occasionally runs drawing and watercolour workshops, sharing his approach and experience with others.

Whether he’s working on animation, games, paintings, or graphic novels, Jason enjoys exploring visual storytelling and finding those little moments that can make a scene stick with you.

When he’s not drawing or painting, he enjoys making moody, ambient guitar music. He lives in Rimabyu with his wife, Gillian, and their dog, Malenia.
